About us |
GeoCG originated in a co-operation between doctoral students from renowned universities in the fields of geography, geoinformatics, ecology, landscape architecture, urban and regional planning, and environmental management. Although the backbone of our network of competence is well established we are open to new contributing members. If a
project requires special expertise and knowledge of areas not yet covered in the group we profit from our excellent contacts in the research community and consult additional experts to find most suitable solutions. |

Josh Metz |
Josh Metz is a founding member of the GeoCG and president of Geovine, Inc. He is an expert in the application of geospatial technology to address natural resource problems. Mr. Metz holds a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from UC Berkeley, 2001. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Fisheries from Humboldt State University, 1995. His current research involves exploring the relationships between evolving mapping and monitoring technologies and environmental threshold-based land-use policy. In addition, he leads on-going research and development efforts into the use and integration of geo-spatial technologies into sustainable viticulture practice in northern and southern California. |
